“It’s a terrible confession to make: they weren’t that much fun to make,” he admitted. “It’s quite boring making big special effects films; however, the pleasures all come afterward.”
Despite the demanding production process, Isaacs acknowledged that the magic of ‘Harry Potter’ still resonates with him — especially when he revisits the stories alongside his family. The actor described how emotional he becomes when visiting the Warner Bros. Studio Tour in London, which showcases iconic sets and props from the films.
“Even though I was in the films, when I’ve taken godchildren or nephews and nieces to the [studio tour], and the thing comes up and suddenly you’re in the Great Hall,” Isaacs shared. “Every time, I burst out in tears. It’s incredibly moving and overwhelming. There’s some magic that happened in those stories.”
The ‘Harry Potter’ franchise, based on the bestselling novels by J.K. Rowling, has captivated fans worldwide for decades. The story follows the journey of Harry Potter, a young wizard navigating life at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, along with his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley.
The series revolves around Harry’s battle against the dark wizard Lord Voldemort, who seeks to dominate both the magical and non-magical worlds.
While the films continue to hold a special place in popular culture, the franchise has faced controversy in recent years. HBO’s announcement of a ‘Harry Potter’ TV adaptation set to debut in 2026 or 2027 has sparked mixed reactions, particularly due to J.K. Rowling’s involvement. The author’s outspoken views on transgender issues have drawn widespread criticism, raising questions about the future reception of the new series.
